Travel Diary : Ho Chi Minh City Jan'15 | Day 1

Sunday, March 15, 2015

Yay back to my happiest moment whenever i blog about travel post, flashing back all the happy moments i had throughout the entire trip. So i finally traveled somewhere i have never been before, a new place to explore. Tagged along by sister Joyce and her best friend Tze Tzi. It was also Tze Tzi's birthday getaway.

I would really really thank god that we have got Tze Tzi onboard with us. Otherwise i couldn't imagine how our trip would turn out to be like. Well i'm not trying to freak you guys out, just that the communication and culture wise are seriously KILLING ME! (Not gonna elaborate much about this issue. I shall leave it to the last post, as the little incident happened on the last of our trip, right before we headed off.) Come back come back! Let's us come back to the brighter and better side of Ho Chi Minh City!

Took the morning flight, so that i could spend more time exploring the city. But i guess we made the wrong move by not eating breakfast before flying off and not purchasing any inflight meal. We were starving all the way, doing nothing except for non stop stories sharing and trips planning.

Thank you Tze Tzi for arranging the transportation, she got her driver ready 24/7 for us once we touch down till the moment we left Ho Chi Minh. Such a VIP treatment. LOL. She then brought us to one of the authentic Vietnamese cuisine - Hoang Yen, which i have no clue where is it. But it is SUPER GOOOOOOD!

Best seller ? I guess! Lol

Yes i know many of you might have the same issue as we do when we can't read on Vietnamese, but don't worry most of their restaurant have english translation!
Coconut for me to chill a little under that god damn freaking hot weather out there!

Well i'm quite a fan of Vietnamese cuisine ever since my visit to Melbourne, they do served really good Vietnamese cuisine especially Pho and Fresh Spring Roll. Too bad you can hardly get any good Vietnamese cuisine in Malaysia.

I shall never let these chance slip away since i'm already in Vietnam, i seriously don't mind eating Vietnamese Cuisine EVERYDAY! Lol. Tze Tzi got us some casual dishes but they already taste like heaven to me, from Fresh Spring Roll, Ginger Lala Soup, Claypot Pork Belly and some fish soup.

After lunch, Tze Tzi toured us around the city in District 1. Yes sorry if i ever missed out where were located at. Most of the time we were just hanging around District 1, where the city is and most of the tourists and foreigners were staying compare to other Districts.
Tourist alike me and the Bitexco Financial Tower behind me, one of the highest and popular sky deck in Saigon.
Fancied by all the handmade Gift cards, bought some as souvenir

Walking around the city and wanted to pay the artsy Saigon Opera House a visit, Too bad the Opera House was closed for some private function. Saigon Opera House is actually The Municipal Theatre of Ho Chi Minh City, one of the opera house in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is an example of French Colonial architecture in Vietnam.
