Weekend Dine | Black Market x Svago

Sunday, November 03, 2013

Hello November, a food post to begin my dull working life. Working on a full time office job has tied up most of my time lately, now i feel how weekend is extra precious to me. My weekdays are usually occupied after work, i would rather stay at home and rest a little more. However weekends seemed to be the same too, spending more quality time with loved ones, out for movie or some coffee, that's nothing more i could ask for. Been physically and mentally tired nowadays, hence those absence in almost everywhere. Sigh life!

Last few weeks, i finally got out of my boring routine, went on a few dates with my girls. Rushed home on Friday after work, changed and dolled up for dinner. It was Lydia's pre birthday dinner, brought her to Black Market since we never been there before although it was just right next to Caffeiness, one of my usual shisha spot. Thank god, Friday traffic went smoothly, no traffic cray around Kampung Pandan.

Black Market also expanded to the second outlet at St. Mary Residence, in the city of KL. Black Market serves pork and wine, didn't know about it but it has instantly strike my favorite list, PORK!! Means non halal! Not to be racist, just that i'm not supposed to take beef, hence pork and lamb will be the next to go with.

Black Market is a chic and sophisticated restaurant for discerning diners, the stylish venue is renowned for its exquisite cuisine and an impressive selection of New and Old World wines which is the perfect venue for after-work drinks and casual dining with friends, clients or business associates.
The minute you walked into the Black Market, you will see a number of wine displayed nicely around and under the spiral staircase. Each and every bottle of wine has a polaroid picture hanging on them as a photo remark for the customers who visited, i guess?

An opened concept kitchen right after you opened the door and enter the real Black Market! Everything is literally black except for the lighting.

Our dinner began with some wine, then we started with their signature dish. You will see a 'B' next to every dishes stated in the menu.

White wine as it goes with food smoothly and sweet

Black Market Big 'S' Pork Ribs. A totally new style of ribs cooking with oven baked. Slightly crunch at the outer layer of the ribs with their home made 'black' sauce.

Grilled Salmon with Mint Sauce. Sorry that salmon is fully covered! haha

Cheesy Potato Cod with mozzarella baked cod fillet, potato and bacon, with a touch of Spanish paprika

Vin de 'Pork'. Grilled pork shoulder in french.

Hooped over to Cafeiness for some shisha session before we complete our Friday night.

How i love Saturday when i have to work! Went on a sister date with Joyce since we haven't been doing it for quite some times. Our shopping time complete blew us aside, although it was just some little daily rants and pure window shopping, we could spend the whole afternoon. We completely ignore about how time passed until our hunger attack. Lunch, shopping and dinner all together, pretty eventful Saturday compare to my usual one, the boring rot at home part. Always wanted to try Svago, not to say new in KLCC but some different restaurant that serve refined continental cuisine with an Italian twist.

Before that i thought Svago was located at where The Apartment used to be. (Silly me thought that The Apartment closed down and turned into Svago! LOL) Svago is situated at the other side of the KLCC lake, from Dome side instead of Chinoz.

Svago Limoncello is a combine italian restaurant, where Limoncello is more to casual dining next to KLCC Lake as when you proceed to second level where Svago is a classier environment that provide fine dining venue in KLCC itself.

Svago is a continental finer dining restaurant with an Italian twist. It offers a mix of tradition, modernity, sophistication, and of course, stunning cuisine.
Our focus is on freshness Svago showcases mouthwatering continental cuisine the way you want it.
More details coming soon – please watch this space.

Svago bar facing KLCC Lake Park, modern and chic interior with black and white.

Ordered some basic italian noms for sharing, did not go for big portion, just two meals with an entree. Wasn't planning to try on many food. Next visit is a must, maybe to Limocello? :) Food in Svago was fine, classic italian, loves the middle well lamb. However the butter herbs escargot was disappointing, we were expecting a lot but it turned out to be tasteless, still prefer the cheese baking way.

Shrimp Pizza with my favorite rocket

Not very recommended tasteless escargot. LOL

Svago’s Rack of Lamb with almond baked style

And for dessert, Sister's favorite Panna Cotta with mandarin orange

Not forgetting to enjoy night scene next to KLCC Lake park with awesome symphony fountain as well as the live house band facing Svago bar on every Monday to Saturday night.

Till then, happy din din with my loved ones! x
