Eat Pray Bangkok Trip | June '13

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

Went onto an extremely spontaneous 3 days 2 nights Bangkok trip in June right after my internship. My little short retreat getaway for eat and pray! Tagged along Sister Joyce and Eugenia, not forgetting Jonathan and Clement all the way from Singapore.

Not to mention about the food poisoning part, indirectly ruined the mood for half of my trip. Oh well, forget about those shits happened, let's focus on the bright side of the trip.

Took the earliest flight of the day to save more time for our trip. Eugenia with her hangover face and my 3 hours slept face! Looking good with our barefaced! *Think face* WTF

We came earlier while waiting for the rest to arrive, so we checked into our hotel - Centara Watergate Pavilion Hotel. Reason why i picked this newly hotel because of the location situated around Pratunam city area. The best part of all it is situated just a street next to the renowned Platinum Fashion Mall. Reasonable price around 200+ per night.

Set in the renowned Pratunam area, the brand new Centara Watergate Pavillion Hotel Bangkok offers a new take on the City of Angels. Seamlessly connected to Watergate Pavillion shopping and leisure complex, the hotel offers 281 rooms and suites designed in a light, modern, and inviting décor with all amenities you require at your fingertips to ensure a comfortable stay. This perfect location in the heart of Bangkok is where modern and dynamic lifestyle blend together with historical Bangkok and where luxury shopping and everyday fashion meet.

I called this 'Vector's Bubble Chair' from Despicable Me 1.

Simple stylish room, perfect stay indeed!

After a couple hour, Sister finally came and joined us. Had some street food along the alley somewhere around our hotel. Not boat noodles but something like hor fan and pork intestine. Hopped over to Platinum Fashion Mall later on.

After our first shopping, as well as our last shopping for the entire trip!

Stucked-in-the-jam-face! WTF

Dinner time, we met up with Clement at the hotel then we went over to China Town for dinner. The last trip i went last year, we went there to visit some shrine, never really got to try on their food. Finally we made it for these trip! Had our dinner at Lek-Rut Seafood, Clement recommended these stall along China Town. It tasted surprisingly good.

Grumpy hungry face of Clement & Eugenia

Our Starve to die face!

Very fresh and cheap oyster, however those were what i gotten myself a super bad diarrhea the next!

Sigh I swear no more uncooked street food after this!!!

Had Bird nest for our dessert

The next day morning, we woke up at 8 and went on our pray trip. Jonathan booked a van for our prayer trip. It was a super long trip, it took 8 hours from Bangkok to the temple, almost reached to Chiang Mai. If we were told that the temple was located somewhere around Chiang Mai, we would have plan to take flight instead of ride! Ah Damn! Well, here's a picture taken, the road sign showing that, Kuala Lumpur is thousands meter away when we were in between Thailand and China. Ridiculous much! Hahahahaha

Jonathan and his Thai friends, busy checking out the food after our long ride

Clement & i

Yummy indeed after starving!

So this is the temple(forget about the name though)! Apparently it was very 'Zhun' according to Jonathan! Pray Pray Pray!

Us sisters and our two Thai friends

Ahh Random Cotton!! Me likey!

The minute we reached Bangkok, we rushed to try this super nice Wan Tan Mee at SiLom

Last day, also the day my diarrahae nightmare began. However i still die die want to try on the famous After You Dessert Cafe, queued for 20 minutes in Siam Paragon just to try on this.

Signature Shibuya Honey Toast

Our last meal before we left, we had Shabu Shabu, Sushi and Much More at My Pot, Ekamai. So instead of Thai Food, we had something different. I'm surprised that their Bak Kut Teh soup base in Thailand taste so good, very different from the usual Bak Kut Teh in Malaysia. Besides that, their Sushi were so fresh, something worth a try. Party people should visit this place before heading to Ekamai for all the party places.

Ending this post with a picture of us with Jonathan! Because i just realized there wasn't any picture of him! So here's one! He's hmmm... available still but in Singapore, good news or bad news? Haha. Till then, Good night, time for Auto Cad.
